At first glance, the two Franconian companies Gebhardt and Paul & Co don't appear to have all that much in common. The first is a medium-sized construction business based in Marktheidenfeld in the Main-Spessart district. Paul & Co, based in Wildflecken in the Rhön region manufactures hard paper cores. The company belongs to the Kunert Group, which employs some 1670 staff at 15 locations worldwide to systematically manufacture cores and corrugated cardboard. What connects them, is the fact that they are both satisfied buyers of used trucks - something that both companies put down to the favourable price-performance ratio. The family business, Gebhardt, which sells building materials and employs 140 people in six branches throughout Franconia, is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. The company, based in Marktheidenfeld is referred to in the trade as a "generalist", because it offers the entire range of building materials with specialist departments and specialist choices. For a quarter of a century now, Gebhardt has been collaborating with Suffel and is currently using 20 top-quality, used Linde trucks. At Paul & Co, it's all about cores. The products range from standard cores to special cores for all manner of materials, high-performance cores for printing paper, right through to surface refined cores for highly sensitive films.
